📸 Browsing the Gallery

The photo gallery is the heart of the site. Here's how to navigate it:

Filter Tabs

• All Photos — Shows every approved photo
• Official — Professional and promoted wedding photos
• Guest Uploads — Photos shared by family and friends
• Custom Galleries — Curated collections (e.g. Ceremony, Reception) created by the admin

Hero Slideshow

The large photo at the top of the page automatically rotates through the first 10 official photos with a smooth crossfade effect.

❤️ Liking & Commenting

Liking a Photo

1. Click the heart icon (❤️) on any gallery photo or in the detail view
2. Click again to unlike
3. Your like is remembered in your browser — you won't accidentally double-like

Commenting on a Photo

1. Click any photo to open the detail view
2. In the sidebar, enter your name and your comment
3. Press Enter or click Post
4. Your comment appears instantly in the thread

📤 Uploading Photos & Videos

Share your favorite moments from the celebration!

1. Scroll to the Share Your Photos & Videos section
2. Click the upload area or drag and drop your files into it
3. Preview your files — you can remove (✕) any file or edit (✎) photos before submitting
4. Enter your name and an optional caption
5. Click Upload Files
6. Photos are automatically converted to JPG and sent for admin review

Supported File Types

• Photos — JPG, PNG, WEBP (max 10MB each)
• Videos — MP4, MOV, WEBM (max 100MB each)

Photo Editor

Before uploading, you can edit each photo with built-in tools:

• Brightness, Contrast, Saturation — Adjust with sliders
• Filters — Apply preset looks (Warm, Cool, Vintage, B&W, etc.)
• Crop — Select a region to crop
• Rotate — Rotate the photo 90° at a time
• Reset All — Return to the original unedited photo

Videos in the Gallery

Videos display in the gallery with a play button overlay and a gold "VIDEO" badge. Click a video to play it in the detail modal or full-screen lightbox. Playback stops automatically when you close the viewer.

📦 Zip File Downloads

You can bundle your uploaded files into a downloadable zip file instead of adding them to the gallery.

1. Select your photos and/or videos in the upload area
2. Check the "Make zip file download only" checkbox
3. Enter your name and click Upload Files
4. Your files are bundled into a .zip and uploaded to the Downloads page

💾 Downloads Page

The Downloads page lists all zip files created by guests. Anyone can access this page.

• Zip files are sorted alphabetically by filename
• Each card shows the uploader name, date, file count, and size
• Click Download to save the zip file to your device
• The list updates in real-time — new zips appear automatically

📝 Signing the Guestbook

Leave a message for the happy couple! The guestbook supports three types of entries:

Text Message

1. Enter your name
2. Type your message in the text area
3. Click Sign the Guestbook

Audio Message

1. Switch to the Audio tab
2. Click the microphone button to start recording
3. Speak your message, then click stop when done
4. Preview your recording and submit

Video Message

1. Switch to the Video tab
2. Allow camera/microphone access when prompted
3. Click record and speak to the camera
4. Review and submit your video message

🔍 Viewing Photos Full-Screen

Click any photo in the gallery to see it larger in the detail view. From there:

• View the full-resolution image
• See the uploader's name and caption
• Like the photo and read/post comments
• Navigate between photos using arrow keys

🔐 Admin: Logging In Admin

1. Click the lock icon (🔒) in the top-right corner of the navigation bar
2. Enter the admin passcode in the modal
3. The site enters Admin Mode — you'll see additional controls throughout the page

✅ Admin: Approving Photos Admin

When guests upload photos, they appear in the Pending Approval section at the top of the page, grouped by upload session.

Grouped by Upload Session

Each time a guest uploads files, a unique session is created. Even if the same person uploads twice, each batch appears as a separate collapsible group showing the uploader's name, caption (if entered), file count, and timestamp. Groups are collapsed by default — click the header to expand. Newest uploads appear first.

Per-Group Actions

Each group has its own action bar:

• Select All — Select all photos in that group
• ✓ Approve All (N) — Approve the entire group at once
• ✕ Reject All (N) — Reject and delete the entire group (with confirmation)

Individual Actions

Each photo within a group has its own buttons:

• ✓ Approve — Adds the photo to the gallery
• ✎ Edit — Opens the photo editor before approving
• ✕ Reject — Permanently deletes the photo

✎ Admin: Editing Photos Admin

In admin mode, the edit button (✎) appears on all photos except the main wedding photo.

Photo Editor Tools

• Brightness / Contrast / Saturation sliders
• Preset Filters — Warm, Cool, Vintage, B&W, Sepia, Dramatic, and more
• Crop — Draw a crop selection, drag corners to resize, click Confirm
• Rotate — 90° clockwise rotation
• Reset All — Revert to the original uploaded photo (from Firestore's originalUrl)
• Save — Applies your edits and updates the photo in the gallery

Promote / Demote

In the photo detail view:

• ★ Promote to Official — Moves a guest photo to the "Official" category
• ↓ Demote to Guest — Moves it back to guest

🗂️ Admin: Managing Galleries Admin

Create curated photo collections for different parts of the celebration.

Creating a Gallery

1. In admin mode, click the + button next to the filter tabs
2. Enter a name (e.g. "Ceremony", "Reception", "Getting Ready")
3. Click Create — a new filter tab appears

Assigning Photos to a Gallery

1. Click any photo to open the detail view
2. Use the Gallery dropdown to assign it to a gallery
3. Select "None" to unassign

Editing / Deleting a Gallery

• Click the ✎ pencil icon on any gallery tab to rename or delete it
• Deleting a gallery unassigns its photos — photos are not deleted

Reordering Photos

In admin mode, each photo shows ◄ ► arrows at the top:

• Click ◄ to move a photo one position left
• Click ► to move it one position right
• Order is saved to the database and persists across page reloads

📦 Admin: Managing Downloads Admin

On the Downloads page, admin mode adds rename and delete buttons to each zip file card.

Renaming a Zip File

1. Enter admin mode (lock icon → passcode)
2. Click the pencil icon (✎) on a zip file card
3. Enter the new filename in the modal (the .zip extension is added automatically)
4. Click Save

Deleting a Zip File

1. Click the trash icon (🗑) on a zip file card
2. Confirm deletion in the modal
3. The zip is removed from both the database and cloud storage

🛡️ Admin: Moderation Tools Admin

Deleting Photos

In admin mode, click the ✕ button on any gallery photo (except the main photo). A confirmation dialog appears before deletion.

Deleting Comments

In admin mode, each comment in the detail view shows a ✕ button. Click it to remove inappropriate comments.

Resetting Likes

In the photo detail view, the Reset Likes button appears in admin mode. This resets the like count to zero.

Deleting Guestbook Entries

In admin mode, each guestbook entry shows a delete button for removing entries.
